Towards a Centre of Excellence in RPA | NBCUniversal’s Virtual Workforce

NBCUniversal wants to accelerate digital transformation within the finance organization. As part of this ambition, the Virtual Workforce was founded, which is a Centre of Excellence focusing on Robotic Process Automation. RPA is successfully used within finance, and there are a lot of opportunities to expand further. The VWF’s ambition is to get more mature and scale up automations: becoming an RPA Factory. NBCUniversal recently embraced UiPath as an RPA tool and wants it to be implemented and set up in a way so it is ready to accommodate the scaling strategy.

MvR Digital workforce is advising on this upscaling ambition, the infrastructural setup and thus all strategic and technical topics related to upscaling UiPath within the organization. This advice is in the first place about setting up a safe, secure, and compliant UiPath environment which accommodates scaling. That has everything to do with supporting architectural decisions, setting up the Orchestrator, Robots, etc.

Next to the compliant UiPath environment, we are implementing a quality control framework for bot development so that there is a consistent quality among the bots being built. Also, actively monitoring and reviewing the process of current bots under development, is part of this task.

Finally, supporting business users with starting the RPA journey will become more important when the upscaling continues. There has to be focus on supporting business users by identifying the RPA opportunities, designing the solutions and translating the needs of the business, so robust and efficient bots can be built using UiPath.
